StockX seller levels and fees

StockX prices its commission by seller level, which resets quarterly based on your sales volume:

Category / tierSelling feePayment processingBuyer-side fee
Seller Level 1 (< 12 sales or < $1500)Seller levels reset quarterly based on sales volume9.00%$0.003% processing fee + regional shipping

Seller Level 3 (40+ sales or $5000+)1.0% seller commission discount8.00%$0.003% processing fee + regional shipping
Seller Level 4 (100+ sales or $25000+)Additional 2% bonus for 99%+ successful ship rate7.00%$0.003% processing fee + regional shipping

Rates change. Treat these as estimates and confirm against StockX's current published fee schedule before you commit to a purchase.

Levels are worth real money at volume

The spread between Level 1 and Level 4 is two full percentage points, plus a further bonus for maintaining a 99%+ successful ship rate. On $50,000 of annual sales that difference is over a thousand dollars, so hitting and holding a level is part of the business, not a vanity metric.

Levels reset quarterly. If you sell in bursts, your effective fee is higher than the level you remember earning — use the tier you are actually on this quarter in the calculator above.

Sneaker arbitrage on StockX

StockX's bid/ask structure makes it the most transparent resale market there is: you can see exactly what an item clears at before you buy. That removes most of the guesswork from sneaker and collectible arbitrage — the remaining question is whether the retail or outlet price you can buy at leaves room after commission and the shipping you pay to send the item in for authentication.

Failing authentication or shipping late is expensive here, so build a little slack into your target margin rather than pricing to the last dollar.

StockX fee questions

How much does StockX take per sale?

Commission runs from 9% at Level 1 down to 7% at Level 4, based on your trailing sales volume. Buyers separately pay a 3% processing fee and shipping.

How do StockX seller levels work?

Levels are earned on sales count or dollar volume — 12+ sales or $1,500 for Level 2, 40+ or $5,000 for Level 3, 100+ or $25,000 for Level 4 — and reset quarterly.

Who pays shipping on StockX?

You pay to ship the item to StockX for authentication; StockX handles delivery to the buyer. Put your inbound label cost in the seller shipping field.

Is StockX good for sneaker reselling?

Yes — visible bid and ask data means you know your exit price before you buy, which is the single biggest advantage in arbitrage. Just confirm the spread survives your commission level.
